Truco Patrão- A Gameskraft Game
Overview
Truco Patrao is an online multiplayer adaptation of the classic Brazilian card-game “Truco”, emphasising quick rounds, strategic bluffing, and social interaction. Released by Gameskraft for the Brazilian market, the title combines competitive match-making, real-time wagering mechanics and a skill-based progression loop to engage players.
The player’s goal is to outwit opponents through psychological mastery and tactical timing, earning rewards, ranking up, and building a reputation within the community. Each match tests not just card knowledge, but emotional intelligence and nerve under pressure.

Core Gameplay
Players engage in fast-paced rounds of Truco, a traditional Brazilian trick-taking card game built around bluffing, risk-taking, and psychological play.
Each match emphasizes reading opponents, managing uncertainty, and strategically deciding when to raise the stakes or retreat.
Key moments revolve around:
Bluffing and Counter-Bluffing to outsmart rivals
Calling “Truco” and “Patrão” to increase bets and pressure opponents
Building partnerships (in team modes) through trust and coordinated play
Balancing risk and reward in pursuit of victory and higher ranks
Every round demands both skill and intuition — one bold call can win the match, or cost everything.

I designed and helped implement the 1 vs N mode, a fresh take on traditional Truco that reimagines its core bluff-and-risk dynamic for larger, asymmetric matches.
Instead of fixed 1v1 or 2v2 setups, a single “Patrão” (Boss) faces multiple challengers, each round intensifying as players form temporary alliances, counter strategies, and attempt to dethrone the current leader.

Tournament Identity & Structure
Alongside the new mode, I contributed to defining the tournament identity and structure for Truco Patrao.
This included designing the visual and experiential framework for multi-round events — from the tone and naming conventions to how matches escalated in difficulty and rewards.
Key aspects included:
Bracket and progression logic for scalable player pools
Reward distribution and leaderboard pacing aligned with player engagement data
Tournament branding that reinforced the “Patrão” persona — authority, prestige, and psychological dominance
UX mapping of the lobby and result flow to maintain continuity between casual and competitive play
These systems together established a distinct tournament ecosystem that extended player retention, fostered identity within the community, and provided a foundation for future live-ops events.
